How the TDEE Calculator Is Calculated

BMR is first estimated with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation (10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) − 5 × age, +5 for men or −161 for women), then multiplied by an activity factor ranging from 1.2 (sedentary) to 1.9 (athlete) to estimate Total Daily Energy Expenditure — the calories you burn including movement and exercise.
